Easingwold (Champions) v The Rest of the League – Thursday 4th September

The players gathered for the traditional end of season game between the champions and the Rest of the League.

Once again, it was held at Easingwold, as they were the previous winners of the league. It had poured with rain all afternoon and the green looked particularly squelchy, so the home side were resigned to the match not starting.

Then, with the weather brightening, it was then decided to try a few ends, so they put back the start by fifteen minutes to set up the rinks. Alas the rain returned, and the game was abandoned without play.

The chairman presented, (inside the clubhouse) the Runners-up trophy to the Stillington captain and the Winners’ Cup to the Easingwold captain.

The rain finally stopped to enable pictures to be taken of Easingwold and the Rest of the League teams. The home side treated the players, officials and supporters to a sumptuous tea and a raffle.
